It has been known through the years for its hosting of some of the best races in the planet. And nothing beats the Speedweeks when it comes to racing especially in the United States. Speedweeks is a four-week stretch of competitive racing held in Daytona Beach every year. It starts with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a 24-hour sports car endurance race known to be the first major race of the year in the United States. It is commonly referred to as the 24 Hours of Daytona although it is officially the Rolex 24 at Daytona. After the Rolex 24 at Daytona, there's the ARCA RE/MAX Series-Daytona ARCA 200. Following that event is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Budweiser Shootout followed by The NASCAR Sprint Cup Gatorade Duel. Then there's also the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevy Silverado HD 250. And before the finale is the NASCAR Nationwide Series Camping World 300. The final race in the Speedweeks is the prestigious NASCAR Sprint Cup Daytona 500. This is the most important race in NASCAR's calendar which is a unique practice. Other motorsports opt to have their biggest event towards the end of the calendar. During Speedweeks, the number of visitors to Daytona Beach dramatically increases thus the number of beach front condos Daytona Florida being occupied also increasing. With the Daytona 500 being one of the most popular auto races in the world, it is not hard to see why people come in droves to Daytona Beach. Apart from the several races that happened this year in the Daytona Speedweeks, there were also other great races held in Daytona during the said period. One of this is the International Race of Champions which recently closed its doors after years of fighting to stay in the expensive world of auto racing.
